Studio Shoot around

Saturday, May 18 1-4 p.m.

East Fifth Studio, Des Moines, Iowa

This Creative Photography class is here to help take your photography to the next level. I will cover many creative and experimental ways that you will be able to immediately implement into your work, allowing you to give your work a new and fresh look. Included in the class will be how to shoot double and multiple exposures, light leaks, film soup, using props to create different effects, how to use a Holga camera and more!

But I'm not going to just talk about it, I'm going to help you put it into action immediately with shooting at the studio and around the East Village. Digital shooters are welcome! Much of what I discuss is applicable across the two mediums. If you do not have a film camera to bring along, I will have extras to share.

This class is best suited for intermediate photographers (film & digital), but beginners are also welcome!

Limited to 5 spots!

ABOUT YOUR TEACHER

SARA JOHANSEN

Hi, I'm Sara and I've been shooting film for the past 10 years, exclusively film for the last five years! I'm in love with film photography and want to share the love with others, especially how the medium can truly expand the creativity with your work.

I shoot mainly 35mm and 120 and will be focusing on those two formats for creative photography, but the ideas will be able to expand across many mediums, including digital photography. I will show you how to implement creative techniques into your work and also examples of the techniques.
